Tucked in the vibrant heart of Benidorm, Medplaya felt like a splendid transition after our previous hotel. Upon arrival, the cleanliness was instantly recognizable, and the inviting aroma hinted at the culinary delights we were in for. I eagerly made my way to the restaurant, where breakfast offered a delightful mix of Mediterranean and continental options that set a perfect tone for the day. I savored fresh olives and bruschetta, bringing back fond memories of my safari lunches among the acacia trees back in Kenya. The spacious dining area exuded a relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance, with a large bar serving everything from traditional paella to classic continental dishes. I was particularly fond of the outdoor terrace, where I unwound with a glass of local wine after dinner under the stars. Although I didn't indulge in the pool, I noted it was a popular retreat for other guests. One minor drawback was the firmness of the beds - I found them a tad on the hard side. The Medplaya stands as a solid choice with an excellent location and commendable culinary efforts; certainly, a spot to muster new culinary ideas for my future eco-lodge guests exploring wildlife in Kenya.
